This quotation assumes that the unit is free from abnormal damage, missing components, or excessive corrosion. The quoted pricing does not include the cost of replacing damaged, missing, or abnormally corroded parts. Any such findings discovered during inspection or teardown will be communicated for supplemental approval.
Quotations are valid for a period of 30 calendar days from the date of issuance. If approval for repair is not received within this timeframe, the unit will be subject to a monthly storage fee of $300 USD beginning on the 31st day and recurring monthly thereafter until disposition instructions are received.
Once repair is complete and Customer is notified, the unit must be shipped within 30 calendar days. Failure to arrange for shipment within this period will result in a monthly storage fee of $300 USD beginning on the 31st day post-notification.
Units for which the Customer elects not to approve the repair quote, or units determined to be Beyond Economical Repair (BER), will be subject to a teardown and evaluation fee. This fee will be calculated based on the actual labor hours incurred, using current standard labor rates, and will be invoiced accordingly.
Any unit remaining in our facility for more than 180 calendar days from the original date of quote issuance, without customer-approved repair or shipment instructions, shall be considered abandoned. Curtiss-Wright reserves the right to dispose of the abandoned unit at its sole discretion. Customer remains liable for any incurred teardown, evaluation, storage, and administrative costs up to the date of disposal.
For any transaction involving an exchange unit, the Customer is required to return a serviceable, repairable core of the same part number within 30 calendar days of the shipping date of the replacement unit, unless otherwise contractually agreed. Failure to return the core within the stated timeframe will result in the Customer being invoiced the full core value, as determined by Curtiss-Wright, and any applicable taxes and fees.
Upon receipt of a unit, an initial teardown and visual inspection are conducted to identify any obvious damage. A quote is then prepared based on these preliminary findings. After quote approval, a more thorough inspection is performed, including non-destructive testing methods such as Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI). These methods may reveal cracks or defects not visible during the initial inspection.
If, during NDT or further analysis, components are found to be unserviceable or outside the scope of the approved quote, the customer will be promptly notified. A revised quote will be issued to reflect the additional findings. No work will proceed on the affected components until written approval of the updated quote is received from the customer. Any delays in approval may impact turnaround time.
